FEDERAL BENEFITS

Chapter 30 – Montgomery GI Bill® (Active Duty)

Students who first entered active duty after June 30, 1985 are generally eligible. Chapter 30 provides a monthly stipend benefit.

Chapter 31 – Veterans Readiness and Employment

Students must be veterans who either received a discharge other than dishonorable conditions and received a rating for a service-connected disability which entitles them to VA disability compensation and needs vocational rehabilitation because his or her disability creates an employment handicap.

Chapter 33 – Post 9/11 GI Bill®

Student must have at least 90 days of aggregate active duty service after Sept. 10, 2001 and are still on active duty, or if you are an honorably discharged veteran or were discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days, you may be eligible for this VA-administered program. This bill is transferable to dependents.

FRY Scholarship

Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship (Fry Scholarship) is a scholarship for children and spouses of certain Veterans. The parent or spouse died in the line of duty on or after September 11, 2001, while serving in the Armed Forces, or was a member of the Selected Reserve who died from a service-connected disability.

Chapter 35 – Dependents Education Assistance

Students must be dependents of veterans who are 100% Permanent and Total disabled or are deceased due to their service-connected disabilities.

Chapter 1606 – Montgomery GI Bill® (Reservists)

Students must be members of the Selected Reserve and National Guard who enlisted, re-enlisted, or extended their enlistment for a period of six years after July 1, 1985.

Tuition Assistance

TA is a tuition reimbursement program for serving members of the Armed Forces.

STATE BENEFITS

AL GI Dependent Scholarship

Students must be Alabama residents and dependents of veterans with at least a 40% disability rating.

The Alabama National Guard Education Assistance Program (ANGEAP)

ANGEAP is a program that aids Alabama National Guard members in earning a degree.
