Advocacy Services

Safe Harbor advocates are trained professional staff members who provide confidential and free support to Auburn students and employees who have been impacted by interpersonal violence, including people who have been impacted personally or through the experience of someone they know. Students, faculty, and staff are welcome to meet with Safe Harbor advocates in a safe, confidential space.

Services include

  • Crisis intervention and safety planning

  • Information about rights and reporting options

  • Medical accompaniment and advocacy

  • Academic assistance and accommodations requests

  • Title IX investigation support and accompaniment

  • Accompaniment to meetings with law enforcement

  • Referrals to campus and community resources

Please note

Services are available regardless of choice to report a crime or how much information is shared. Support is provided regardless of the time and location of the experience(s) of violence.

Information disclosed to Safe Harbor advocates will not be shared with anyone without the individual’s written permission. However, in the situation where there is reasonable fear of imminent harm to the survivor or the campus community, action will be taken to ensure safety.
