Code of Student Conduct
Auburn University is committed to providing a nurturing and vibrant community in an environment that promotes integrity, responsibility and mutual respect. The Code of Student Conduct establishes a baseline of expectations through its standards of community conduct. The Code of Student Conduct also contains students' rights and responsibilities as members of the community, processes that will be used to address students when they do not uphold their responsibilities, and potential outcomes a student may face for not meeting the standards of community conduct.
The Student Conduct Process
The process by which Student Conduct cases are resolved is outlined below.

Complaint or report received; reviewed by director or designee
Complaint has merit: code violation, Charge Notice sent to student
Complaint has no merit: case closed
Complaint has merit: no code violation, Educational Conversation
Facilitated Informal Conference with student
Educational Conversation: case closed
Student does not accept responsibility; requests hearing by Student Conduct Committee
Informal Resolution: student accepts responsibility and recommended outcomes, case closed
Student found responsible by SCC hearing panel; outcomes are assigned by SCC hearing panel
Student found not responsible: case closed if no appeal is filed
Student appeals decision of SCC to Appeals Officer or Appeals Panel (cases involving suspension or expulsion)
Student accepts decision from SCC: case closed
Appeals Officer or Appeals Panel reviews appeal; accepts, modifies, or rejects SCC decision and makes final decision
