Records Verification

Student Conduct Records Verification

Auburn University and Student Conduct frequently receive requests for Student Conduct or disciplinary records checks for current and former Auburn University students for the following purposes:

  • Transfer to another institution

  • Law or professional school admission

  • Background check for employment

  • Participation in study abroad experiences

Student Conduct records checks will verify if the requesting current or former student has violated the Code of Student Conduct, University Housing policies, Title IX/Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity policies, and/or other university policies adjudicated by Student Conduct. If there has been a finding of responsibility, Student Conduct will share that information, including issued sanctions, the completion status of sanctions and whether the student is currently in good behavioral standing with Auburn University. Records are typically retained and reported on for seven years from the date of the incident or are held indefinitely in cases where suspension or expulsion are involved.

Many institutions seeking a records check will provide their own records request document that can be completed, signed and submitted to Student Conduct.
