Tiger Dining Terms and Conditions
What is a Meal Plan?
A meal plan gives you access to meals, snacks, coffee, and more at dining locations across campus. Plans may include Meal Swipes, Block Meals, and Dining Dollars, all accessible via your Tiger ID on the GET mobile app. If you have a smartphone or Tiger ID, you're ready to eat.
Privacy Notice
To comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Tiger Dining can only discuss individual account details with the student or with individuals granted written permission. Students may grant access via: AU Access > My Campus > Tiger Dining Card > Parent Dining Account Permission
Meal Plan Participation:
During Fall and Spring semesters, all undergraduate students enrolledin at least one class on Auburn University's main campus must participate in a meal plan. Meal plans are assigned and billed per semester. Requirements vary based on student classification and housing status. Students with 120+ credit hours may request an exemption. Meal plans for the summer term may be purchased; however, they are not madatory.
Meal Plan Options:
All First-Time First-Year (FTFY) Students - regardless of housing status
- Default Plan: Orange Plan - 5 meals/week + $475 Dining Dollars ($1,560/semester)
- Upgrade Options: Three additional Orange plans available
- Usage: Meals usable at Village Tiger Zone, Wellness Kitchen (breakfast & lunch), The Edge, Foy on the Fly (lunch); Dining Dollars usable at dining locations campus wide, including athletics concessions, food trucks and the Hey Day Market
Non-FTFY Students Living On-Campus
- Default Plan: Blue Plan - 50 Block Meals + $450 Dining Dollars ($1,040/semester)
- Options: Any Orange or Blue Plan
- Usage: Same as FTFY students
Non-FTFY Students Living Off-Campus
- Default Plan: White Plan - $450 Dining Dollars ($450)
- Options: Any available plan
- Usage: Dining Dollars are usable campus-wide, including athletics concessions, food trucks and the Hey Day Market; dining hall entry at retail rate
Meal Plan Changes
- Plans are semester-based
- One change allowed per day
- Changes allowed through the 10th class day each semester
- Summer plans are optional
- All meals expire onthe last exam day of each semester. All Dining Dollars expire at the end of the academic year.
Eligibility
Only the account holder may use the meal plan. Meals and Dining Dollars are non-transferable.
Tiger Dining's Commitment
- Offer all-you-care-to-eat access at dining halls during regular hours
- Provide a variety of delicious food options across campus
- Maintain quality and cleanliness
- Open dining locations in phases during move-in
- Meals available from the first main move-in day through final exams
- Meal plans filled through student eBill
Student Commitment
- Review and /or change your meal plan each semester
- Plans renew automatically fall-to-spring unless changed
- One change allowed per day
- Changes reflected on your eBill
- Keep your Tiger ID secure; do not share login credentials
Meal Plan Components
Meals
- Access to dining halls and special events
- Weekly meals reset early Sunday and run through Saturday night; unused meals do not roll over
- Block meals are usable anytime during the smester; expire at semester's end
- A meal swipe may be used to dine in or to get a to-go container, but one wipe may not be used for both. If you dine in, you must use a second swipe for a to-go box.
Dining Dollars
- Usable at all campus dining locations, vending machines, food trucks, athletics concessions, and the Hey Day Market.
- Roll over from fall to spring to summer; expire at the end of summer term
- Optional Dining Dollars may be added via GET app/website and are refundable upon request
Using Your Meal Plan
- One meal per entry; dine-in or to-go (not both)
- Reusable or compostable to-go containers available
- All meals expire on the last day of exams
- Dining Dollars are usabled campus-wide
Managing your meal plan
Check your balances via:
- GET mobile app
- GET website
- If you have problems with GET, contact the Campus Dining office (105 Foy Hall, Monday - Friday, 7:45 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.) at 334-844-8504
Accommodations
Students may request accommodations for:
- Medical conditions
- Religious dietary restrictions
- Off-campus enrollment (interships, study abroad, etc.)
Requests must be submitted by the 10th class day each semester. Documentation is required.
To complete a request: Login to AU Access > My Campus > "Tiger Dining" Card > Accommodations or visit the Accommodations page
Reductions
- Refund of unused Dining Dollars at semester's end (meals are not refundable)
- Available for qualifying medical conditions or qualifying fraternity meal plans - fraternity freshmen only
Exemptions
- Complete removal of plan
- Available for medical, religious, or off-campus reasons
Changes/Withdrawals
- Meal plan changed reflected on eBill – Meal and dining dollar charges are separate line items
- Withdrawals may result in prorated refunds to your eBill. Please notify the dining office if you withdraw from the university
- Rolled-over dining dollars are non-refundable
Dining Room Policies
- Maintain respectful behaviour and a clean environment
- Shirts and shoes are required
- Unlimited second helpings – please use clean dishware
- Misuse of Tiger ID may result in disciplinary action
- Report Tiger ID issues to the Tiger ID Office or Campus Security
Timeline Highlights
- Orientation: Review and/or change your meal plan
- July: First eBill sent
- August: Move-in: Fall Meals and Dining Dollars access starts
- Main Move-in (early-mid August): Dining locations open in phases coinciding with residence hall occupancy. Access to Dining Dollars begins.
- Move-in/Class Start: Meals become active
- 10th Class Day: Deadline for changes and accommodations requests
- November–January: Spring registration and meal plan change option
- April: Fall meal plan change opens *Note: Second-year default plans do NOT include meal swipes unless you reside on-campus.
- April: Optional Summer Meal Plans are available for purchase
