Medical Clearance Policy
When a student medically withdraws from Auburn University, a medical clearance hold is placed on the student's account if they are not cleared to return to Auburn in their initial medical letter to the Auburn Cares Office. A student will be unable to register or take classes until the hold is resolved.
How to Resolve a Medical Clearance Hold
- Submit the Medical Clearance Form to Auburn Cares indicating your readiness to return to Auburn University. This form must come directly from your health care provider.
- Schedule a re-entry meeting with Auburn Cares by emailing medwithdraw@auburn.edu.
- Review the re-entry questionnaire prior to the meeting. The re-entry questionnaire will be sent to you by the Medical Withdrawal Coordinator once you have scheduled a meeting time.
These steps should be completed 14 days prior to the first day of class of the semester that you plan to return. If you have any questions about this process, email the Medical Withdrawal Coordinator or call the Auburn Cares Office at (334) 844-1305.
