Auburn Highlights

I love that Auburn is a university within the city of Auburn, and the feeling that you get when you are there just feels like Hometown, USA – a bit of nostalgia coupled with newness.

Auburn may be a large state public university, but you would never know because of how welcoming, friendly, and safe the campus and the surrounding community are. The campus and city are intertwined to provide great walking, shopping, and dining experiences.

Lucy's and The Hound are two of my favorite restaurants, and we always frequent them when we are in town. You will notice a trend of Auburn residents and visitors proudly wearing the school colors. Behind the Glass and the Locker Room are great options for orange and blue attire.

Tips

If traveling by plane, book flights for Thanksgiving months in advance. Ask your student to let you know when their last final is (and check the Auburn Final Exam schedule) so you know when to book Christmas and May flights home.
