The Council for Advancement and Support of Education, or CASE, has named two Auburn University Student Affairs communications projects to its 2025 district III “best of” list.
CASE is a global nonprofit dedicated to educational advancement in alumni relations, communications, development, marketing, and advancement services. District III includes member institutions from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
The following projects received Best of District III Awards:
Waffles with Woodard
Waffles with Woodard received the Best of District III Award for Best Single Day In-person Event. Hosted by our Senior Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Bobby Woodard, this iconic event welcomes students to campus with Waffle House, a DJ, fun photo-ops and giveaways outside of the Melton Student Center on the first Wednesday of each fall semester. This year marked the 10th anniversary of Waffles with Woodard, a now cherished tradition that provides a special opportunity for Dr. Woodard to engage Auburn students.
Therapy Dog Trading Cards
Our series of Therapy Dog Trading Cards received the Best of District III Award for Best Specialty Print Piece. Each trading card features one of the university’s beloved therapy dogs—Moose, Rooster, Winston, and Nessie—which are affectionately known as “dogtors” on campus. Student Counseling and Psychological Services uses these cards to promote therapy dog services and connect with students at outreach events. The cards were produced using the same techniques as high-end trading cards, establishing them as a collectible item designed to outlast traditional, logo-branded giveaways.
