Student Health Insurance
About the Policy
All students are strongly encouraged to have health insurance to help minimize their health care costs. Auburn University offers student health insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama (BCBSAL), serviced by Academic HealthPlans (AHP).
Eligibility
Auburn University student health insurance is available for:

Fulltime/Co-op domestic undergraduate students

Graduate assistants - Automatically enrolled if given assignments of 10 hours (0.25 FTE) or greater for the full semester (Fall and/or Spring) and meet the minimum monthly stipend established by the Office of the Provost.

Domestic graduate students taking a minimum of 6 credit hours

International students and scholars - Non-immigrant students and scholars in F and J status attending or participating in a program at Auburn University as well as J scholars employed by AU but not eligible for AU BCBS are automatically enrolled on a mandatory basis.
