A High-Energy, Student-Centered Event

- You are uncomfortable in large, dense crowds
- You require seating, shade, or air-conditioned space for extended periods
- You have health concerns that may be impacted by heat or prolonged standing
- You are primarily attending out of curiosity rather than invitation
Many families choose to celebrate this milestone with their student later in the day at an off-campus location.
Bid Day Guest Policy
Due to space limitations and crowd size considerations, each student may register ONE (1) guest for Bid Day. We are unable to accommodate additional guests.
Attending Bid Day is completely optional. While some local families choose to attend, there is no expectation that parents or family members attend Bid Day, regardless of where they live.
If you are considering attending, please keep the following in mind:
- Parents and guests will not be able to watch students open their bids in Neville Arena.
- Following bid distribution, guests may need to wait approximately 30–40 minutes before seeing their student.
- August temperatures are often very warm, and seating and shaded areas may be limited.
- Once students receive their bids, they will immediately begin participating in chapter-sponsored new member activities and celebrations for the remainder of the day.
- Because of these scheduled activities, families often have only a brief opportunity to visit with their student.
Can't attend in person? A livestream of the Bid Day Run will be available for family members and supporters who are unable to attend. Additional information will be shared with registered PNMs later in the summer.
