Thousands of Auburn Families Celebrate at 34th Annual Fall Family Weekend Tailgate

Nearly 4,000 Auburn families gathered on Cater Lawn for the Auburn University Parent and Family Association's 34th Annual Fall Family Weekend Tailgate, one of the signature events of Homecoming and Fall Family Weekend. This year's tailgate was sponsored by Regions Bank.

The festive atmosphere welcomed parents, family members, students, alumni and friends from 42 different states as they enjoyed an afternoon of food, fellowship, and Auburn spirit before kickoff. Attendees were entertained by DJ Ozz and had the opportunity to meet and take photos with Auburn's beloved mascot, Aubie.

The tailgate was organized by members of the Auburn University Parent and Family Association Board of Directors, whose volunteers helped make the event possible.

“Our goal is that every family leaves feeling they’ve truly experienced what makes Auburn so special,” said Kim Henry, vice president for events of the Auburn University Parent and Family Association. “From gathering at the tailgate, touring our beautiful campus, or sharing in cherished Homecoming traditions, we want them to feel connected to the spirit and sense of community that define the Auburn Family.”

While the tailgate served as the centerpiece of Fall Family Weekend, families also enjoyed a wide variety of experiences across campus. Through the College of Human Sciences, participants took part in specialty programs including sushi making and wine tasting. Family members also explored campus through facility tours of Jordan-Hare Stadium, the Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center, Lucky Man Studio, and the Auburn University Museum of Natural History.

In addition to these family programs, visitors had the opportunity to experience Auburn's cherished Homecoming traditions, such as the annual Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) Cake Race, and the Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally.

Fall Family Weekend continues to provide families with opportunities to connect with their Auburn students, experience campus life firsthand, and participate in the traditions that make Auburn such a special place. With thousands of guests in attendance and activities taking place across campus throughout the weekend, this year's event once again showcased the strength and spirit of the Auburn Family.
