Fall 2026 Dates to Know
As Auburn students prepare for the fall 2026 semester, knowing important academic deadlines can help ensure a successful semester. From the first day of classes to final exams, students should keep these key dates from the academic calendar in mind.
Aug. 17 — Classes begin
The fall semester officially begins Monday, Aug. 17.
Aug. 21 — Last day to add a course
Students must add courses by Friday, Aug. 21.
Aug. 28 — 10th Class Day
Friday, Aug. 28, is the 10th class day and the last day to request a meal plan change.
Sept. 4 — 15th Class Day
Sept. 4 is the last day to drop a course with no grade assignment and the last day for a potential tuition refund for dropped classes.
Sept. 7 — Labor Day
There will be no classes on Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor Day.
Oct. 8-9 — Fall Break
Students will have a two-day fall break Thursday and Friday, Oct. 8-9.
Nov. 20 — Last day to withdraw
Friday, Nov. 20, is the last day to withdraw from a course without a grade penalty. A "W" will be assigned to the course.
Nov. 23-27 — Thanksgiving Break
There will be no classes Monday through Friday, Nov. 23-27, for Thanksgiving Break.
Dec. 4 — Classes end
The final day of fall classes is Friday, Dec. 4.
Dec. 5-6 — Study/Reading Days
Students will have Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 5-6, to prepare for final exams.
Dec. 7-11 — Final exams
The fall 2026 final exam period runs Monday through Friday, Dec. 7-11.
Dec. 12 — Commencement
Fall 2026 Commencement will take place Saturday, Dec. 12.
