Auburn Panhellenic Continues Record Growth with Largest Recruitment Ever

The community's largest recruitment season to date culminates with a celebration of sisterhood and belonging.

Auburn University's Panhellenic Council celebrated the conclusion of its largest formal recruitment process to date on Bid Day 2026, welcoming 2,289 women into its 18 sorority chapters.

This year's recruitment saw a record 2,455 women register to participate, continuing Auburn Panhellenic's remarkable growth and reinforcing its standing as one of the nation's largest sorority communities. Recruitment week culminated on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Neville Arena, where potential new members received bids and officially began their membership journeys.

For the first time, Auburn Greek Life offered a Bid Day livestream, allowing family members and supporters who were unable to attend in person to share in the excitement from anywhere in the country. The addition of the livestream expanded access to one of Auburn's most celebrated traditions while preserving the energy and experience of the in-person event.

After receiving their bids, new members made their way to the Panhellenic Village, where they were welcomed by their chapters and introduced to the communities they will call home throughout their Auburn experience.

"Reaching another recruitment record is certainly exciting, but what matters most is the experience behind the numbers," said Lindsay Holdren, Director of Greek Life at Auburn University. "Every woman who participated in recruitment had the opportunity to explore her values, build meaningful connections, and discover a community where she can thrive. The energy, support, and sense of belonging displayed throughout the week are what make Auburn Panhellenic so special, and we are thrilled to welcome 2,289 new members into our sorority community."

This year's recruitment reflected both the continued demand for fraternity and sorority life at Auburn and the strength of the Panhellenic experience. Throughout the week, participants engaged in a values-based recruitment process designed to help them discover the chapter that best aligned with their personal interests, goals, and values. Recruitment counselors, known as Pi Chis, supported participants throughout the process while remaining disaffiliated from their own chapters to provide impartial guidance.

"We are absolutely honored to welcome a record-breaking number of PNMs into our Panhellenic Community, and this experience has been nothing short of incredible,” said Payton Berry, Auburn Panhellenic Vice President of Recruitment. “It is so empowering to see other women uplifting other women, and recruitment is the perfect example of this. It has been so rewarding to serve as the 2026 Auburn University Panhellenic Vice President for Recruitment, and I am so excited to see what the future holds for this community as we continue to grow!”

Beyond recruitment, Auburn Panhellenic continues to foster leadership development, academic success, philanthropic engagement, and meaningful connections among its members. For thousands of women each year, joining a chapter is the beginning of an experience that extends far beyond their time on campus and connects them to a larger community of women across Auburn University.

"The Panhellenic Council at Auburn University is one of the most vibrant Panhellenic communities nationwide,” shared Colleen Weis, Auburn Panhellenic President. “When you become a member of your individual chapter, you are simultaneously becoming a piece to a much larger puzzle; a sisterhood that exists far beyond chapter room doors. Our community is beyond excited to welcome all the new members to sorority village!"
