Auburn Pi Kappa Phi Earns National Distinction
Alpha Iota Chapter honored among the top five in North America for excellence in operations, member experience, and philanthropic impact
The Alpha Iota Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi at Auburn University has been named a recipient of the North American Interfraternity Conference’s (NIC) Chapter Award of Distinction, one of the organization’s highest honors for collegiate chapters.
Presented to only five chapters across North America, the award recognizes organizations that demonstrate strong operations, meaningful campus involvement, and a commitment to a positive, values-based member experience. It highlights chapters that integrate their core values into daily operations, member education, and community impact.
At Auburn, Pi Kappa Phi stands out for its consistent results and intentional approach to chapter operations. The chapter raised more than $215,000 in support of The Ability Experience, Pi Kappa Phi’s national philanthropy, expanding opportunities for individuals with disabilities through service initiatives and outreach.
A strong emphasis on member development has also shaped the chapter’s success. Over the past two years, the chapter has achieved a 100% retention rate from the associate member period through initiation, supported by a structured and intentional new member experience that prioritizes connection, accountability, and long-term engagement.
“Receiving the NIC Chapter Award of Distinction is an incredible honor that reflects the dedication of every single brother in our chapter. Our focus on deep community impact through our War of the Roses week, raising money for the Ability Experience, maintaining a strong academic standard, and building true Auburn men is what truly sets this group apart,” said Tudor Munteanu, Pi Kappa Phi chapter president. “Moving forward, we are excited to build on this momentum, continuing to lead by example and push the standard for leadership and service here at Auburn.”
"Pi Kappa Phi's dedication to developing strong leaders, supporting one another, and making a significant impact through philanthropy has created a chapter culture that truly stands out,” shared Lindsay Holdren, Director of Greek Life. “This award is a well-deserved recognition of the positive influence these students have on our campus and community."
The recognition reflects Pi Kappa Phi’s commitment to Auburn’s core commitments to leadership, integrity, and service, while placing the chapter among a select group of organizations setting the standard for fraternity excellence across North America.
