Greek Excellence Awards honor 2025 chapter and individual accomplishments

Members of Auburn University’s fraternity and sorority community gathered on February 17, 2026, in the Student Activities Center for the Greek Excellence Awards, a ceremony recognizing the accomplishments and impact of Greek Life during the 2025 year. More than 200 students, advisors, alumni, campus partners, and special guests attended the event to celebrate chapters and individuals whose leadership and dedication strengthen the Auburn community.

The Greek Excellence Awards recognize excellence across a wide range of areas, including leadership development, academic achievement, service, philanthropy, prevention programming, collaboration, and facility stewardship. Throughout the evening, award recipients reflected the many ways fraternities and sororities contribute to Auburn University while upholding the Greek Life values of scholarship, service, philanthropy, and friendship.

The ceremony also celebrated the collective impact of Auburn’s Greek community in 2025, with highlights including:

  • Fraternity and sorority members contributed more than 92,000 hours of community service.
  • The Greek community donated over $1.9 million to charitable causes.
  • Chapters hosted more than 3,300 programs and events for members and the Auburn community.
  • Greek Life welcomed 3,208 new members during the year.
  • Total Greek membership now exceeds 10,500 students, representing 37% of Auburn University’s undergraduate population.

“At the heart of the Greek Life community are students and volunteers who genuinely care,” said Lindsay Holdren, director of Greek Life. “This program celebrates those who consistently show up for their chapters, invest in their peers, and contribute to the organizations they believe in and love.”

In addition to individual and chapter recognition, the evening acknowledged achievements earned beyond Auburn’s campus. During the past year, Auburn’s Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council received recognition at both the regional and national levels, earning awards that highlighted strong council leadership, effective operations, and collaborative community impact.

Introducing the Anna Funderburk Buckner Executive Leadership Award

The 2026 Greek Excellence Awards also marked the introduction of a new honor: the Anna Funderburk Buckner Executive Leadership Award. Established through an endowment from the Alpha Beta chapter of Chi Omega, the award recognizes exceptional executive leadership and sustained service within Auburn’s Greek community.

Named in honor of Anna Funderburk Buckner—Auburn Chi Omega alumna, former chapter president, and current Chi Omega National President—the award celebrates a fraternity or sorority member whose leadership extends beyond a single role or term. It honors individuals who demonstrate a lasting commitment to organizational excellence, mentorship, and the advancement of Greek Life as a whole.
