Fall Family Weekend | Frequently Asked Questions

Check-in for Fall Family Weekend will occur Friday, September 12 from 2-4 p.m. at the Campus Recreation Sportsplex at 811 Lem Morrison Drive and 2-5 p.m. at Cater Hall Lawn. Check-in will also take place the day of the event, Saturday, September 13 from 9-11 a.m. at Cater Hall Lawn. Either students or parents can pick up wristbands.

Purchased t-shirts and tumblers will be provided at the Fall Family Weekend check-in on Friday, September 12 from 2-4 p.m. at the Campus Recreation Sportsplex at 811 Lem Morrison Drive and 2-5 p.m. at Cater Hall Lawn. Check-in will also take place the day of the event, Saturday, September 13 from 9-11 a.m. at Cater Hall Lawn. We highly recommend picking up your tumbler on Friday as you will not be able to bring the tumbler into the game.

Either students or parents can pick up wristbands.

There are many great options for places to stay when visiting your Auburn student. Auburn-Opelika Tourism provides a comprehensive list of hotels and accommodations.

It can be hard to find a hotel room in Auburn on gameday weekends. There are several nearby communities you might consider when looking for a place to stay such as:

  • Lake Martin, AL
  • LaGrange, GA
  • Columbus, GA
  • Lake Harding, AL/GA

Also, Auburn is considered a vacation destination for many people, so there are a number of homes and condos available through Airbnb, VRBO, and other short-term rental websites.

Gameday at Auburn University is a major event with thousands of attendees, so Parent and Family Programs cannot guarantee parking for any guest. However, Auburn Athletics has provided guidance regarding parking for gameday on these pages:

University guests are also encouraged to park in downtown Auburn and surrounding streets. Many local residents even sell parking in their driveways and yards. Be prepared to walk during gameday, as the traffic pattern on campus and in the surrounding area is altered to accommodate the large number of fans.

Of course! There are many family-friendly events for your student’s sibling to attend throughout the weekend. Please note that a ticket will also have to be purchased for each sibling.

Most certainly! We recommend comparing the schedule of events to see if it is feasible to attend the Fall Family Weekend tailgate in addition to Greek events.

Fall Family Weekend tailgate is a rain-or-shine event.

In the event of cancellation due to inclement weather or other matters beyond the control of Parent and Family Programs, all purchased food will be donated to the Campus Kitchens project to provide meals to food-insecure members of the Auburn campus and community.

All sales are final.

Guests can work with Auburn Athletics to secure accessible seating inside Jordan-Hare Stadium for the football game.

Parent and Family Programs cannot provide shuttles, mobility chair reservations, or other mobility assistance for Fall Family Weekend. The Fall Family Weekend tailgate is in an accessible location on campus, but guests are responsible for their transportation to the venue.

Fall Family Weekend and/or gameday participation usually involves significant amounts of walking on campus. These events may not be suitable for all guests.
