Auburn’s Sigma Kappa Chapter Honored for Outstanding Philanthropy Efforts
Auburn Sigma Kappa earns national recognition and an award for contributions to the Sigma Kappa Foundation and the Alzheimer’s Association.

Auburn University’s chapter of Sigma Kappa has been nationally honored for its outstanding philanthropic achievements, earning placement in the Sigma Kappa Foundation’s prestigious Platinum Chapter Giving Circle and receiving the 2025 Best PULSE Fundraiser Award. These accolades celebrate the chapter’s deep commitment to service, fundraising innovation, and support for Sigma Kappa’s national philanthropy, the Alzheimer’s Association.
During the 2024–2025 academic year, the chapter raised over $38,000 in the spring semester alone and contributed an additional $47,427 through its annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s, held on October 20, 2024, at Auburn’s Campus Green. The walk drew more than 600 participants, including students, families, alumni, and members of the local community, making it one of the chapter’s most impactful traditions.
“Our philanthropic efforts are more than just events—they’re a reflection of our values and the heart of our sisterhood,” said Bella Reilly, Vice President of Philanthropy and Service. “To be recognized nationally is an incredible honor and a testament to the compassion and drive of every sister in our chapter.”
The chapter’s fundraising success stems from a blend of large-scale and grassroots initiatives. Signature events include:
- Sigma Hold ’Em: A Texas Hold ’Em-style poker tournament benefiting the Sigma Kappa Foundation.
- Mini Golf Tournament: A fun and interactive community event bringing students together in support of the cause.
- Raffle Baskets and Benefit Nights: Hosted in collaboration with local businesses.
- Digital Campaigns: Leveraging social media and university outreach, including tabling on Haley Concourse and campus-wide flyer distribution.
Sigma Kappa’s philanthropic model emphasizes individual responsibility, with each member setting personal fundraising goals. This approach has resulted in a 95% participation rate across all events. The chapter also receives generous support from alumni, families, and businesses nationwide.
Beyond fundraising, members actively volunteer at local senior centers, offering companionship and gifts to residents throughout the year. These efforts reflect the chapter’s holistic approach to service—combining financial support with meaningful personal engagement.
The Best PULSE Fundraiser Award recognizes collegiate chapters that excel in supporting the Sigma Kappa Foundation’s PULSE Annual Fund, which fuels:
- Leadership development programs
- Educational initiatives
- Scholarships and emergency grants
- Emerging needs within the Sigma Kappa community
“Supporting the Alzheimer’s Association is deeply personal to many of our sisters,” Reilly added. “Through our events and outreach, we’ve built a culture of compassion and commitment that drives real impact.”
Auburn’s Sigma Kappa chapter continues to set a national standard for philanthropic excellence, blending tradition, creativity, and heartfelt service to make a lasting difference.
