Auburn University Greek Life is proud to share that Drake McDaniel, a member of Phi Sigma Kappa, has been named a recipient of the , the highest honor an undergraduate can achieve at the national Phi Sigma Kappa level. The award recognizes undergraduates who demonstrate exceptional leadership, service, and scholarship, while embodying Phi Sigma Kappa’s Cardinal Principles of loyalty, hard work, and . With rigorous criteria and a demanding application process that includes holding chapter office, maintaining academic and financial good standing, and securing five letters of recommendation, this award is reserved for a select few of the fraternity’s most exemplary leaders across the country.
For McDaniel, the honor reflects not only his own growth but also the impact of Auburn’s Greek Life community. “To me personally, this award is just a testament to the caliber of men we have in our chapter. I would be nowhere without the men beside me,” he shared. “To be recognized for leadership and service means a great deal to me; however, my chapter as well as the Greek Life community here at Auburn truly deserve the credit.”
McDaniel noted that Phi Sigma Kappa and Auburn’s Interfraternity Council community have been formative in shaping his leadership. “Serving on the IFC Cabinet as the Director of Health and Wellness has given me the opportunity to be surrounded by the best leaders and men in Auburn, inspiring me to lead my own chapter better. It has been such a privilege.” He added that Auburn has set the standard for leadership and service, inspiring him to live out those values each day.

His strategic approach to chapter development and campus engagement reflects a deep commitment to fostering inclusive growth and meaningful impact. It has been a privilege to witness his contributions firsthand,” says IFC Coordinator Jonathan Belmontes.
McDaniel hopes his recognition will inspire others to see the power of Auburn’s Greek system. “I want this award to serve as a representation of how any student who wants to make a difference within their chapter and university is given every opportunity through our Greek Life system,” he said. “Most of all, Auburn and Phi Sig have taught me that no matter where you are, leave your organization and your people better than you found them. I hope to continue leaving a positive impact wherever I go, inspiring people to love and serve others.”
