Spring awards honor students

Students receiving award at Student Involvement Awards

Several awards banquets were held throughout April to honor Auburn students, including the Involvement Awards, the Be The Creed Awards Ceremony and the Student Employment Awards.

On April 16, Student Involvement hosted the Involvement Awards, complete with a red carpet and dinner, to recognize student leaders and organizations for their accomplishments throughout the year.

Director of Student Involvement Corey Edwards reflects on the event as successful and fulfilling.

“The 2019 Involvement Awards were a great success,” Edwards says. “While students attend Auburn to receive an academic degree, we would be remiss in not celebrating the learning that happens outside of the classroom through co-curricular activities.”

Another event held to celebrate students is the Be The Creed awards reception. Each year, Student Conduct accepts nominations to honor a student who reflects the values of the Auburn Creed. Mike Patterson was this year’s Be The Creed Honoree. After serving nine years in the Air Force, Patterson came to Auburn and served as the vice president of the Auburn Student Veterans Association.

The Student Employment Awards ceremony, hosted by the University Career Center, recognized 17 supervisors of students and 35 student workers who exemplified an exceptional commitment to the university as well as strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
