Dear Students,

Members of the Auburn family are united in sadness and anguish for the victims in Orlando and their families and friends.
The events Sunday provide a solemn reminder that each of you, as students and emerging leaders, play an important role in making our campus safe. Campus safety is everyone’s responsibility, and we encourage you to read and follow these recommendations:

  • Report suspicious information to the police and dial 911 for any emergency, whether on or off campus.
  • Update your emergency contact information as well as your cell phone number for AU Alert to ensure you receive time-sensitive information about dangerous situations. On the Auburn website, go to AU ACCESS and click on My Campus.
  • Encourage close family members to text “Follow@AUALERT” to 40404 so they too may receive emergency alerts.
  • If you haven’t already, take the 90-minute active shooter response training course. Learn more at www.auburn.edu/publicsafety and watch this active shooter response training video.

We appreciate each of you doing your part. If you have any questions, please contact the Department of Public Safety & Security at 334-844-8888 or send an email to publicsafety@auburn.edu.

Sincerely,
Chance Corbett
Interim Executive Director
Department of Public Safety & Security
